Conservation

Friends of Heber Valley is working closely with Utah Open Lands and supports their efforts in the Northfields Protection Initiative. Utah Open Lands is working with landowners in the Northfields area to preserve their properties as part of the Northfields Protection Initiative. Three properties—Giles, Gertsch, and Christian-Michel—are leading this effort. These landowners are committing to donate at least 25% of their property value, totaling nearly $23 million, to support conservation.

Utah Open Lands has already secured over $15 million in funding and needs an additional $975,000 to complete this phase. Successfully finishing this phase will encourage other landowners to consider conservation and demonstrate community support, potentially unlocking up to $20 million in additional funding.
